Dr. Branka Hrvoj-Mihic is an anthropologist and neuroanatomist studying age-related changes in the cortex of great apes, including humans. In her earlier work, Branka studied microstructural organization of the prefrontal cortex in Williams syndrome, and neuronal development in humans and chimpanzees using induced pluripotent stem cell techniques. Initially trained in Indology, she remains interested in classical traditions – especially their knowledge of physiology and medicine – and the role they played in the development of scientific thinking. Dr. Hrvoj-Mihic works in the Laboratory for Evolutionary Neuroscience
