Current Postdoctoral Scientists
Somaye Khaksar
Somaye received her PhD in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Her research is focused on the efficiency and function of stone tools during the Pleistocene to understand reasons underlying change and variation in early hominins` stone tool kits. As a postdoctoral associate at GWU Somaye is currently working on some African lithic collections that are being studied for the first time since their excavations decades ago. This project will contribute to our understanding of early human behavior in Africa.
